On September 12th, the reception ceremony for the new students of the class of 2019 took place in Qingdao at the Chinese-German Campus [CDC]. This year, a total of 360 students have enrolled in Materials Science; Of these, 120 students have registered for the Coatings & Energy Materials major and 240 students for Composite Materials. In comparison, in the past years 2017 and 2018 there were only 100 students each.
Prof. Ma Lianxiang, President of the Qingdao University of Science and Technology [QUST], opened the ceremony together with other members of the Executive Committee of the QUST and Prof. Hans-Joachim Warnecke, representing the Vice-Rector CDC Prof. Wolfgang Bremser.
Phase I construction work for the CDC has been successfully completed; so that the new students can move directly into the CDC on the grounds of the Sino-German Ecopark in Qingdao.
