First graduates of the Bachelor of Materials Science degree programme

On 03 December 2021, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bremser (Prorector of the Sino-German Campus) congratulated the three students Hanqing SUN, Wenzhe SUN, and Mengwei YAN on passing their Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science at the University of Paderborn. All three graduates excellently mastered their Bachelor's thesis as well as the oral defence (Prof. Dr. W. Bremser and Dr. O. Seewald).

In September 2017, the Sino-German Campus welcomed the first first-year students (100 students in total) to Qingdao in a reception ceremony. In the winter semester 2019, 56 students mastered the selection exams and transferred to the CDC Paderborn; this cohort also includes the three students H. SUN, W. SUN and M. YAN. In this so-called CDC alignment year 2019, they were taught by professors/lecturers. After passing the exams and the oral CDC final examination in July 2020 (in the departments of chemistry, physics and mechanical engineering), they transferred to the University of Paderborn and continued their studies in the Bachelor of Materials Science degree programme from the 5th semester.

The three students took part in the courses of the modules Lacquer System I and Lacquer Systems II (Dr. Oliver Seewald, working group Prof. W. Bremser: module supervisor) and were supported by their supervisors M. Sc. Stephan Berg, M. Sc. Tobias Buchholz and Dr. Marina Kley during the time of the Bachelor thesis.
