On December 6th and 7th, a delegation from Qingdao visited the University of Paderborn. Lothar Pelz, UPB Executive Committee, permanent representative of Vice President Simone Probst, and Prof. Dr. Thorsten Meier, Dean of Chemistry UPB, welcomed the QUST delegation headed by Prof. Dr. Li Zhenjiang, Dean CDTF; other QUST delegates are Prof. Dr. Luo Xiliang, Dean of Chemistry, and Prof. Dr. You, Dean of Materials Science. As part of the CDC, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bremser, Vice Rector CDC, and Prof. Dr. Matthias Bauer, Dean of Studies Chemistry UPB, the meetings with the professors from the Departments of Chemistry, Physics and Mechanical Engineering. In the meetings, everyone got to know each other's expertise and current projects.
The visit resulted in very informative and intensive discussions. The lively exchange of information now gives the opportunity to identify and initiate possible bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The research profiles of the professors were then exchanged in order to generate ideas for new projects. The projects are funded by research funding from both the German side (DFG, BMBF, Horizon 2020, etc.) and the Chinese side (NSFC, National Science Foundation China).
