Shandong University Qingdao - first potential cooperation partner for the field of computer science

With the visit to Shandong University in Qingdao, the CDC moved one step closer to the CDTU. The CDTU is intended to be a consortium of universities from Germany and China, in which a wide variety of faculties are represented. Immediately after the founding of the CDC in March 2017, two chemistry courses were established. Preparations for the expansion of further departments within the CDC and CDTU have recently started; this includes a visit to the Computer Science and Technology Department of Shandong University in Qingdao. The delegation from the University of Paderborn was welcomed by Ms. Song Chunling, Deputy Director Shandong University Qingdao, Department International Affairs, and Prof. Jiong Guo, Head of the "School of Computer Science and Technology". Prof. Jiong Guo received his doctorate and habilitation from Jena University. From 2009 - 2014 he headed a research group at Saarland University. His research focuses, among other things, on parameterized algorithms.

Both universities are very interested in a joint research cooperation. After the joint meeting, "Research Profiles" were exchanged.
